Si, we said yes! It was a wonderful day. It almost didn’t rain and there were a lot of people. I felt almost famous. The wedding ceremony was as we wanted it: a laugh, a small tear and fast. And though the Wim T. Schippers Chamber is now about 21 years old there were still people who didn’t know it has a merry go round. A marry go round in this case. This was fun!

We had a lovely informal afternoon party at Open. The Wedding Cake was beautiful and the one little bite I had tasted deliciously. Well, we will have our own party later at De Konditorei of De Taart van mijn Tante. De Prosecco was sparkling gold. The company was merry and gay!

And then there was this surprise. This unbelievably touching and wonderful surprise. 62 knitters created a blanket for me. Yvon Storm in the Attic dyed the softest Blue Faced Leicester + Alpaca in the most beautiful colour green you ever saw. It’s like a fresh mountain meadow in spring. Thank you, dear namesake, you did a great job. Froukje, Lies & Emile did the organising and kept the secret awfully secret. It was great. Thank you all knitters… you all did a great job. I was so so moved…
You can see it for yourself on YouTube. Thank you all…again.

Next day we left for Paris. We were so tired. The most exciting thing we did was reading in the Parc du Luxembourg and buying some music and – very French – an ‘Agenda de l’Enseignant’.
We are back, I have been working now since Monday and the newly weds have temporarely been separated: DH (lol) is in Germany, I think. So there finally was some time to blog. And to knit. Which is what I’ll do tonight. Finish things. For example. To blog more.
