Shimmer van Knit PicksToday is Sinterklaas and in a few hours for most of the Dutch Pakjesavond begins. Not Dutchies: read all about it. And just today the second package of my dear Secret Pal decided to arrive. How appropriate.
Somewhere in October she (is my secret pal a she?) asked me about my wishes. I felt free to ask for some yarn from Knit Picks. Had seen beautiful things by the American S’nB women in the Amsterdam group and I had seen beautiful things on the Knit Picks site. And here it is. Three skeins of Shimmer are lying on my lap. They feel so soft and tempting, being alpaca mixed with silk. And their colour is gorgeous: turquoise splendor.
Turquoise SplendorA beautiful pattern of a triangle cover shawl was included. I’m really not sure whether I will succeed in knitting this. I’m a very weak lace knitter. (One day I will tell my adventures with the Wedding Shawl when I have more than 7 rows to show.) And there were more surprises. A Clover circular needle (so, why don’t you start rightaway with that shawl…?), a notepad with paper with a soft grey flowery pattern, and, and
Smith's Rosebud SalveSmith’s Rosebud Salve, which I love! Ages ago I bought a tin in the States. It’s great for dry, coarse, sensitive, sore, everything skin and lips.
Wonderful gifts. Thank you, thank you, secret pal. You have made an exquisite choice.
