Life rumbles on. Too much. Disciplinary decisions and send a student from school. A student who e-mails his frustration in an ugly way. A student who is too fast for the system. A reader that has to be finished. A minor in the last = most wrong period of the year. And so much other things that has to be done. I wish a schoolyear was longer…
Luckily there are bright spots. The new Innocent smoothie for example, with oranges, mango and carrots. I won a whole box. Really! And it’s delicious. You wouldn’t expect it, but it is. Not too sweet. No. Fresh and fruity and veggie. Love it. Yo for Carlien and Ine from Innocent!
In our cycle shed some punks keep throwing away the valves of our tyres. So last Saturday it was my turn to go to the bicycle shop to buy a valve and … I came back with a new bicycle. Yes. It’s a pearly purple beauty, a bit like what we here call a Grannybike but it sits like a Puch, with gears (is that the word?) and I love it. I never liked making bike tours for pleasure, but guess who was biking last Saturday merely for fun? Yes….And we are going to do this next Sunday too. With a nice book, some pick nick things, and whatever makes life in the wild comfortable. 🙂 By the way: we live in the center of Amsterdam but we only have to take a few minutes (free!!!) ferry trip to be in the country.
In the meantime I keep on knitting. Even slower than before. But I knit. I finished my Sockamania socks of, I think, March. I joined the Plus group but the first sock was a fair isle (please, no) and the second was a nice pattern but I had already started another sock. More in the next log.
I am making holiday knitting plans and she is involved. In the meantime I’m trying to become a better human being here. Take courses. It is so good and soothing. One day I’m relaxed. Ready for full time knitting…

There is always something positive to dwell on when things are hard. Thank goodness. I lost my job and my kids leave for Ireland for two weeks without me tomorrow. And I miss my friend, who moved to AMSTERDAM recently. I hope she will find you! She is a knitter and spinner!
Klinkt goed en gezond zeg!! Worteltjes smoothie… heel apart maar ergens lijkt het me heel erg lekker!
Fijn weekend!
Students can get in your system!
I like the socks a lot, and I am looking forward to our holiday-knitting!
(And: this is the first reaction ever that was given by me using my Aesus Eee! I did it! (I hope) I´m on the net!)
Yummie drinks, good knitting, some light sports!
It’s a taste of the good life.
A shame that the balance isn’t always so bright. The student made his bed, now he has to lay in it!
Shake it of (if you can) and pick nick the day away!
