My Jaden sock and the Yarn Harlot
The Yarn Harlot

Look at this! Yes, this really is Stephanie Pearl-McPhee better know as the Yarn Harlot signing my/her book while I photographed her with my Jaden sock in front of her. We, she and I (and a whole bunch of Dutch knitters), were in London for the I Knit Day 2008. It was really, really great. She f.i. created a real Dutch table with stroopwafels and salted liquorice. For the first time I saw large pictures of their Knitted Landscape and I liked it more than I thought. Some photos were really stunning. And of course, we went to the Yarn Harlot and we laughed a lot. It was great to see all those knitting people listeningand reacting. I really had a great view, by the way.

Coraline - Hey Teach - Arwen

Coraline, Hey Teach, Arwen

It all inspired my greatly. I even bought a spindle (the darker side, as Lies said) because I found the most beautiful roven at Moonspinning from Rockpool Candy. It’s green (why not?) and made from merino, texel, silk, wensleydale, banana, milk and angelika. You see.  Unfortunately I was too late for the softiest cashmere I ever felt (as if I feel cashmere every day).

Start with Hey Teach!

Hey, Teach!

Work is too much in the way on the moment, but I knit 2008 inspired me a lot to spend all my free minutes to knitting. So I managed to not only start my Hey, Teach last Sunday, but also finish the back yesterday evening. Because of the repetitive movements knitting keeps me in theta. I need that.
