Long story short: it took me more than a day. Out of efficiency therefore, this log is only in English. We were in New York City. My oh my, what a city that is!

I’m totally in love with the New York way of talking… even a electronics saleman could count on my never ending attention! Luckily, I found me a teacher on YouTube. The other thing I love about New York is a cliché: that city never sleeps which is lovely if you got a jetlag. 🙂 If you are out of music, you can buy cd’s and films till 2 pm at Virgin’s Megastore. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the one cd I wanted to buy in none of their shops. Bol.com did have it.
We had a great hotel: the Eastgate Suite Hotel. Not the smallest room you could find, but we had a 2 rooms apartment with a fully equiped bathroom and a kitchen. It was really wow. Two tv’s, a microwave, and a great view on the city, because we were on the 24th floor.
You can shop till you drop in New York and we certainly did that. I freaked out on shoes. Three pairs. Sorry guys, but now I’m ready for the summer. I was on a yarn hunt. I was at The Woolgathering where I bought beautiful Hacho Peruvian hand dyed merino in warm, glowing winter colours. Photos later in my Ravelry stash. I was at The Yarn Connection where I bought the greenest and softest yarn ever. It was hand dyed by J. Knits, it’s called Montana and its b e a u t i f u l! On her (his?) website I found even more beautiful yarn so I am so glad she sells via The Loopy Ewe. Inspiring conversation we heard in the shop. Black woman who exclaimed: “I’m not a republican, I’m just a pissed off human being.” All the presidential things are conversation topics. People are fed up with Bush. That’s for sure. I went to Stitches East, chooses for ads in magazines, no on line presence. I had an interesting and friendly conversation with one of the shopladies about the declining knitting hype. I bought Silky Sock yarn by Great Adirondack Yarn Company (tell me if you find a recent link).

We went to the opera: Satyagraha by Philip Glass. It was an adventure to be in the Met and the opera was so festive for ears and eyes. We loved it! We went to The Blue Note: the Yellow Jackets. Not very very special. Good music. Period. We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I loved it. I could have stayed there for days. We spent quite a lot of time to look at the Rembrandts and Vermeers. And: Rogier van der Weyde. My favourite. Remarkable: this young lady! We passed by the Guggenheim. Funny installation of a Chinese artist. I bought myself the smallest fun pc: Asus eeepc, and called it Little Greenie.

And then, it was over. We are back. In our beautiful house, in our beautiful city. No, I don’t have a jetlag. That’s why I’m uploading this log at this time 🙂 (and it is even one hour later than the time it says).

Well, you don’t wanna know how much trouble it took me to get this picture in this log… new computer, not yet everything installed, a new ftp program, no program to make photos smaller.
