But, fair enough, she offers something in return that&#8217;s definitely worthwhile: who doesn&#8217;t want to win Socks that Rock yarn?\u00a0 So here we go.<\/p>\n<div><em>1) How old were you when you learned how to knit?<\/em><\/div>\n<div>Very young. I must have been 7 or 8 and I remember exactly what is was that we had to knit: an oven cloth. With extreme fine needles for a child, US 0 or 2 mm and light blue cotton we had to do 4 rows 4 k and 4 p, 4 rows 4 p and 4 k etc. The finished cloth got a crocheted picot in pink. Yek! It was far too complicated for me and till now I can see (in my memory) the mistakes I made, the tight grubby yarn and the dropped stitches. I think my mother finished it, &#8216;cause for years I remember seeing the things (yes, there were 2!) hanging in the kitchen.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><em>2) Who taught you?<\/em><\/div>\n<div>I was in a girls&#8217; school that was part of a convent, so I guess I learned to knit from the nun who taught fancywork. I don&#8217;t remember her name.
