There’s knitting too. I started these on the way to Switzerland in the car. Travel project. Knitted while hiking and finished them today, because I bought a new skein of JaWoll Silk for Mart. Finally he wants knitted socks. Yes, sometimes it is here very, very cold and I always have very, very warm feet, because of my self knit socks. That makes jealous. Besides the 4 sport shops in the village of Pontresina, there is a little yarn shop (with lots of other nice things). I bought a ‘Knauel’ of Jawoll Silk and started tonight. In the Knauel/skein I found a little bobbin with reinforcement yarn in the same colours. Cool!
Knitting too…
Merry Christmas in July
Can you imagine that we didn’t believe our eyes? We had a whole day of rain, rain, rain, sitting in the ‘Aufenthaltraum’ with shrieking children, Sponge Bob and the Tour de France (televisions should be forbidden in this kind of rooms). We ate out in the Bünderstube where they make a lovely vegetarian rösti with the yummiest grilled peppers, we drove home in the rain, brushed our teeth in the rain, went to sleep with rain. Waking up we heard different kinds of noises. Was it the revolt of the squirrels and were they throwing cones to our tent? And what was that shuffling sound? What were the dark spots on the tent? Inside our tent it was 4 degrees Celsius (= 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit), so we dressed in a lot of layers before we went outside and couldn’t believe our eyes. We made pictures for our christmas cards and started to shovel away snow. In this summer winter wonder land we walked to the village. It’s cold here. Yes.
Super Highest Quality knitting!
Super highest quality knitting! This is on the top of Munt (Mount) Pers - 3207 meters or 10552 feet. On my right side are the peaks of the Bernina (only 800 meters higher). The footpath to the peak was not very spectacular. To be honest: it was dull. Very dull and stoney. The weather was great, it was so warm ‘upstairs’ where only the view was really spectacular. Knitting on top of a mountain did attract a great deal of attention. But I did it. Yes.
Jodelahiti…
I’m doing the most incredible things. And I love it! I walked on a gletscher - a glacier - not kilometres, but just enough to get the feeling and feel the cold. It was an educational path and it showed how much glacier disappeared since 1900 because of the climate changes. It was shocking, I can assure you.
We walked up a mountain, along side the glacier to a cabin. It was a very tiresome walk with a spectacular view in the end. It makes you humble. On the photo you can see the path we walked. In the distance you see the glacier and the Bernina.
