From Norway with love

Bris yarn from Kate
Some weblogs are a joy to visit. Kate’s is one of them, because she is a very gifted knitter. She makes beautiful things and besides, I like to get a glimpse of ordinary life in Norway. Kate and I don’t know each other except for our blogs and knitting work. She surprised me. Because of the birthday of Kate’s blog I was one of the regular visitors who got a present. And look, what I got! Wonderfully soft Norwegian yarn, Bris, 50% wool and 50% soya in this really terrific colour. I’m considering Gretel.
Vlindersok
In the meantime:

  • School has begun
  • I’m going to ballet again each week
  • Fluids in my knee have been removed (bit ouch…)
  • I started the Luchtige Vlindersok (breezy butterfly sock) from the Dutch sock club Sokketiers
  • I made the resolution to ramble regularly in 2009 this Saturday I’ll go to Holten.

Not a bad start of the year at all…

Oh, and I put this link here to not forget it… such a beautiful page… (sorry, only in Dutch)

A hat at the end of the holidays

Lifted Twill Hat
Another one in between. This is the Lifted Twill Hat from Interweave Knits winter 2008/2009 and it was a fun knit. It’s always a bit of a fuss to find the right yarn, but I succeeded well with Rowan’s Cashsoft Chunky (with cashmere!!). This one might be for a dear friend - hope he likes it - and there are more orders for hats.

Today is my last day of ‘freedom’. Christmas decorations are put away. Package for my mystery pal is send to the USA. Much is done, lots of plans left. Knitting projects, the craft fair, a knitting course. But: tomorrow working life will start again. So, let’s be realistic. Unless I’ll win a large lottery prize, it will go slower. Hope you keep on visiting me.
