Teach almost finishes Hey, Teach!

Yes, I’m kind of silent here. I work hard and coming home there is always cooking, a little knit and… the evening is over. Mostly I’m too tired to make a blog and I go to bed early. How dull. How dull. Yes. And no. ‘Cause with the little time left for knitting I managed to finish the real knitting part of Hey, Teach in 3 weeks. I started on September 7th and today I rinsed the parts and now they are drying. I hope it dries fastly. So that I can start the neckline and the buttonthing. Really, Hey, Teach! is a very fast knit, even for a slow knitter like me!

I Knit London 2008

My Jaden sock and the Yarn Harlot
The Yarn Harlot

Look at this! Yes, this really is Stephanie Pearl-McPhee better know as the Yarn Harlot signing my/her book while I photographed her with my Jaden sock in front of her. We, she and I (and a whole bunch of Dutch knitters), were in London for the I Knit Day 2008. It was really, really great. She f.i. created a real Dutch table with stroopwafels and salted liquorice. For the first time I saw large pictures of their Knitted Landscape and I liked it more than I thought. Some photos were really stunning. And of course, we went to the Yarn Harlot and we laughed a lot. It was great to see all those knitting people listeningand reacting. I really had a great view, by the way.

Coraline - Hey Teach - Arwen

Coraline, Hey Teach, Arwen

It all inspired my greatly. I even bought a spindle (the darker side, as Lies said) because I found the most beautiful roven at Moonspinning from Rockpool Candy. It’s green (why not?) and made from merino, texel, silk, wensleydale, banana, milk and angelika. You see.  Unfortunately I was too late for the softiest cashmere I ever felt (as if I feel cashmere every day).

Start with Hey Teach!

Hey, Teach!

Work is too much in the way on the moment, but I knit 2008 inspired me a lot to spend all my free minutes to knitting. So I managed to not only start my Hey, Teach last Sunday, but also finish the back yesterday evening. Because of the repetitive movements knitting keeps me in theta. I need that.

Jane Austen…

Oh, yes, later more about London and the I Knit Day 2008 and…. The Yarn Harlot… but first this:

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

The moment my picture upload is repaired I’m back with great pictures!

I work, I run, I knit…

My sp spoils me
Well, don’t ask me what is the matter, ’cause I don’t know. I don’t get my pictures uploaded. But there is always Flickr! Life as a married working woman is even busier than before… is it really only two weeks ago? In the meantime my SP12 send me a beautiful package. Wrapped in a Greek sea coloured scarf I found the lovely book ‘Lace Style’. Thank you, SP, you know you made me very happy.
I started again with a running course and yes, that means training 3 times a week. Once with the group and twice on your own. Did you know that I use calories in those 3 trainings equivalent to a whole day eating? That’s amazing, isn’t it?
Sitcom Chic I have been knitting! I finished my SitCom Chic. She helped me with it. It was a nice day with a nice result. I still have to block it. I also finished the Panoplie, a pattern of the French Droguerie. It is nice.

And now I have to run… in another way. In a few hours I leave for the I Knit Day 2008 with her. And I still have to pack all my things. See you next week!
