Think positively, Yvonne

worteltjessmoothie in boxLife rumbles on. Too much. Disciplinary decisions and send a student from school. A student who e-mails his frustration in an ugly way. A student who is too fast for the system. A reader that has to be finished. A minor in the last = most wrong period of the year. And so much other things that has to be done. I wish a schoolyear was longer…

Bottle of InnocentLuckily there are bright spots. The new Innocent smoothie for example, with oranges, mango and carrots. I won a whole box. Really! And it’s delicious. You wouldn’t expect it, but it is. Not too sweet. No. Fresh and fruity and veggie. Love it. Yo for Carlien and Ine from Innocent!

One to have Batavus!!!!In our cycle shed some punks keep throwing away the valves of our tyres. So last Saturday it was my turn to go to the bicycle shop to buy a valve and … I came back with a new bicycle. Yes. It’s a pearly purple beauty, a bit like what we here call a Grannybike but it sits like a Puch, with gears (is that the word?) and I love it. I never liked making bike tours for pleasure, but guess who was biking last Saturday merely for fun? Yes….And we are going to do this next Sunday too. With a nice book, some pick nick things, and whatever makes life in the wild comfortable. :-) By the way: we live in the center of Amsterdam but we only have to take a few minutes (free!!!) ferry trip to be in the country.

Simply cable In the meantime I keep on knitting. Even slower than before. But I knit. I finished my Sockamania socks of, I think, March. I joined the Plus group but the first sock was a fair isle (please, no) and the second was a nice pattern but I had already started another sock. More in the next log.

I am making holiday knitting plans and she is involved. In the meantime I’m trying to become a better human being here. Take courses. It is so good and soothing. One day I’m relaxed. Ready for full time knitting…

Terug? / Back?

jacobeanHet is me gelukt. Uploaden is weer gemakkelijk. En er wordt gebreid. Breiplannen gemaakt. Breimateriaal gezocht en besteld. Jammer dat het zo achterlijk druk is op het werk. Wel erg genieten in het nieuwe huis. Bijna gewoon weer aan het leven.

I did it. In the middle of moving. The stewardess thought I would finish them on the flight, but no. I had to work hard in my New York apartment to finish in time. But the SKP 2008 number 1 Jacobeans are ready. It was easy-peasy to make a picture, but uploading it was a big deal. But slowly all the old programs found their home on the new computer. Uploading is easy again. And I am knitting. Making knitting plans. Finding yarn and order it. It is a pity that it is too busy at work. But I love the new house. Almost back to living.

New York, New York

View from our windowWell, you don’t wanna know how much trouble it took me to get this picture in this log… new computer, not yet everything installed, a new ftp program, no program to make photos smaller. Long story short: it took me more than a day. Out of efficiency therefore, this log is only in English. We were in New York City. My oh my, what a city that is! (meer lezen…)
