Ze zijn af. Ik heb er speciaal mijn nagels voor gelakt. Het patroon komt uit ‘Not just socks’ van Sandi Rosner (gekregen bij mijn magic ball). Het gebruikte garen is Sock! Merino in de kleur Emerald City van Lisa Souza, dat ik kreeg van mijn Secret Pal 9. De kleur van de nagellak is Russia! Ik ben behoorlijk trots op mijn werk, want het zijn mijn eerste handschoentjes ooit. En dat voor iemand die een jaar geleden nog geen sok kon breien. Daarvoor is trouwens nog genoeg Lisa Souza over.

They are finished. I specially painted my nails for them. The pattern is from ‘Not just socks’ by Sandi Rosner (one of the presents I got with my magic ball). The yarn is Sock! And that’s quite something for someone who couldn’t even knit a sock a year ago. For which is enough Lisa Souza left. 

15 mei treedt ie op in Carré. Slechts één concert na acht jaar! En ik? Ik ontdekte het één dag te laat. Ik verspeelde nog een dag met het vragen of partnerlief meekon. Ik hing gisteren niet onmiddellijk aan de telefoon toen ik eergisteravond de online-kaarten-kopen-button niet kon vinden. De kaartverkoop begon op de 17e en zondag de 18e was het al uitverkocht. Zucht. Het was zo’n droompje. Naar een concert van Julien Clerc.

May 15th he gives one concert in Carré. The first in 8 years! And I? I discovered it one day too late. Asking partner to join cost another day. I didn’t phone immediately when I couldn’t find the buy-online-tickets-button. Tickets selling started on the 17th and Sunday 18th there were no more tickets. Sigh. Nee, dit is geen ufo. Dit maakte ik in een paar verloren uurtjes de afgelopen maand. Het patroontje komt uit een van die Ariadnes uit de stapel die ik een tijdje geleden scoorde. Het is van juli 1988 maar nog steeds leuk. Het is - alweer - voor het kleine wondertje van haar (kw vind je niet op de website overigens). Die is hazelnootkleurig, dus dat staat geweldig. ‘t Is gehaakt van puur katoen, zodat het tegen een stootje kan.

No, this is not an ufo. I made this in a few hours this month. It’s a pattern from the Ariadnes I obtained a while ago. It’s from 1988 but still pretty. It is - again- for her Little Miracle (you won’t find LM on her website, by the way). LM is hazelcoloured, so that matches great. I crocheted it of pure cotton, to stand rough handling.

 Ik hou van de nacht en daarom vind ik het niet erg om vroeg op te staan. Maar de echte nacht, de diepe nacht heeft mijn voorkeur. Als mijn muziek de enige is. Alle ramen om mij heen donker zijn. Elk idee fonkelt. Dat is de luxe van het weekend. En de weelde van een vakantie. Die nu voor me ligt.

I love the night and that’s why I don’t mind getting up early. But I prefer the real night, deep night. My music only. All windows are dark. Any idea sparkles. That’s the luxury of the weekend. And the luxuriance of a holiday. This whole week.

 
Klaar! De Bejeweled sjaal. Was een makkie. Lekker ontspannen breien en ziet er leuk uit. Gebreid op pennen 6 met handgeverfde zware zijde die ik kocht bij Gerard van I Knit London. De kleuren zeegroen en waterblauw wisselen elkaar af en de sjaal is, hoe kan het ook anders, zijdezacht.

Ready! The Bejeweled scarf. It was a piece of cake. Relaxed knitting and an attractive result. Knitted on needles 6 with hand dyed aran weight silk that I bought at Gerard van I Knit London. The colours sea green and waterblue isselen take turns and the scarf is, guess what, soft as silk.
